Freud to Tocqueville: I Agree (Thesis)

Freud to Tocqueville: I Agree (Thesis)

I've always thought America shallow,

Their Jews are just as depthless as their goys,

But their hatred of us has gone fallow,

There, we're Americans with simple joys.

In America, they want love that's fun,

They want I'm OK, you're OK pop psych,

In our lands we know love's a loaded gun,

They confuse it with what they really like.

American ethics--yes, it's better,

They don't tear themselves apart as we do,

They're simple souls of spirit and letter,

Who choose to conflate the good and the true.

They listen to me so they can repress,

Their shallow embrace of Eros I bless.
