The 4:07 NY/4:24 NWK Summit Local

I take this train 'cuz they don't ask for tix,

From Newark it gets me home right at five,

I'm complicit in someone's idle tricks,

The train's crowded.  But it's free.  I'll survive.

I'm taking it from New York-Penn today,

Partly in order to solve a myst'ry,

Here's where the curtain rises on the play,

I want to explain this train's odd hist'ry.

We are cancelled!  Mechanical trouble...

Hot and grumbling, we process to Track Two,

The new train's packed, filled with human rubble,

I know I'll ride free.  I don't feel so blue.

Nancy Drew me says the free train's a swing

train for scheduling.  Its glitch might be fake,

That might not be a completely bad thing,

It might be for var'ious stakeholders' sake.

I wonder.  Is this train is bound for glory?

Dunno!  It's part of a glor'ious story.
